Berkeley Breathed says goodbye to Opus
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...5441421&ps=bb3
Mike Waters is of course intimately connected with Berkeley Breathed, having adopted the the smoking figure of Steve Dallas, esquire, as his avatar on CB. For a time, a larger version of a reclining meditative smoking Steve Dallas was his avatar on CG. Opus' heydays, frankly, were long gone. But still, it is a passing of a good friend. |

I lost interest in his stuff after he quit doing Outland, but it's still a bit sad as Bloom County is one of my all time favorite strips. I'll have to dig out my Bill the Cat for President poster and hoist a whiskey or three in honor of Opus' passing.

That's a shame. That's the last of the truly great strips.
Anybody remember when he did a series of strips making fun of Marie Osmond's divorce? Tacky, but hilarious.
