Archaea's points have merit - Americans need to adopt healthier lifestyles.
But UHC would help prevent our (largely) unique phenomenon of deferred critical healthcare for financial reasons. "I can't afford to go to the doctor"... until the condition becomes bad enough to cost a whole lot of money. Another BIG factor that single-payer UHC would essentially eliminate - administrative overhead associated with private health insurance. The difference in overhead between a single payer solution & what we have now would mean about $220B per year. |

He's not stupid.........
he doesn't actually think Cuba does it right. The hospital visit was a setup. The hospitals in Cuba are not what he showed in Sicko. And he knew it. It's just part of his agenda. And if he has to lie to further his agenda, the end justifies the means.

but we can't afford NOT to do anything about the economy. Let's throw healthcare cost on top of the economy right now. That would be brilliant. Why not invite terrorists to the US while you are at it.
