I need Nike+ but here's my time off the treadmill for 3.11 miles: 29:22. I am a fat ass.

You'd be in 4th place right now. Here are the results so far.

I remember when I was in ROTC and I did the 2 mile test in something like 13min and 30sec or maybe 14 min. I talked to my friend that ran track in high school and told him my time. he said, "what , did you break your leg?"

Was your leg broken at the time?

Given your talent you should have been in the ten minute range. Were you injured or loafing it?

1. I have no talent
2. I'm terrible at long distances
3. My leg was not broken. I was just slow. But I was impressed with my time (my friend was not).

The longest I have ever run was during freshman year in ROTC. 3 miles or so.

For some reason I can tolerate long distance on the bike. But not running.

As soon as I get some motivation, I'm going to try and do a faster 5k. I'm slowly coming to the realization that I really hate running fast. I used to want to try and qualify for Boston, but as cool as that sounds, I'm just not willing to do the work. I guess I'll just keep doing my 3:50 marathons, and be content with that.

Oh, man. As soon as I have some spare change to splurge on Nike+ I am buying one to be official. I am coming for you ewth8r. I think I should be able to shave 3 minutes off my time or so by the end of summer. We'll see. Getting married and such will be a setback though next month.

Good luck, you'll hopefully have to shave more than that off of your time. I've only been running for 3 months or so after being a coach potato for the previous 10 years. By the end of the summer, I'll be well below my current time

Does 5k=3.1 miles?

I can't officially participate (no Nike+), but I ran 3.1 miles in 24:48 this morning on the treadmill.
