Good point. I should have extended my hand and accepted paradise.

In that case I can provide lots of Dobson quotes for you. Maybe even a few Rick Warrens. And fear not...Huckabee's not even on the radar. |

Romney will be a deal breaker only for the dominionists and the ultra-conservatives. Basically, only with the Jesus Camp crowd.

The press will pull all the radical evangelists on the tube and let them spout their venom.
I wonder if Huck was on the ticket if the press would put on all the radical mormons and let them spout their venom. Of course when you have the truth, it isn't venom, but just truth. I feel fortunate I could never be a religious biggot, because my faith is the true faith therefor my faith is righteous and not biggotry. |

This is an election where the Republicans cannot afford to cater to the religious right. They must win several non-bible belt states that won't be won with Huckabee or another social "conservative" on the ticket. I will contend that social conservatives are typically not all that conservative on most things -- only social issues like abortion and school prayer. We've had a social conservative with a neocon foreign policy the last eight years that has alienated other traditional republican bases like the economic conservatives and small government libertarians. Those are the voters the GOP must have backing McCain this time or they're dead. The social conservatives do not need to be appeased. It's not like they're suddenly going to vote for Obama if McCain picks Romney. On the other hand, Romney could help in some crucial states like Colorado, Michigan and Nevada. McCain doesn't win the election without those.

Mike, mike, mike.....
check out the primary numbers. Evangelicals WERE voting for Romney....even more so than McCain for example. The pastor is full of Texas BS.
