But my feelings about McCain are visceral and deep ... and a long time in developing. It's not just political, it's personal. I doubt I am alone. Victor Davis Hansen (a McCain supporter) summed it up nicely: Quote:

I have a tough time believing conservatives could be this stupid or self-destructive. It's just emotion. It will pass.

I sincerely doubt that. It would be so transparent. It would be disgusting.

On PBS, they just announced that the McCain camp is seriously considering McCain Huckabee. If he does that I'll hate him almost as much as I hate Hillary.
That is the most offensive ticket the Republicans could ever select. My contempt for Huckabee is at an all time high. McCain was so complimentary of Huckabee. Romney's having his lunch handed to him, but perhaps he'll be around for 2012 running a better campaign.

Whatever the final outcome, it puts the R's at a distinct disadvantage. Just for kicks, let's assume Obama wins the D's since I think he's harder to beat than Hillary. The man is a Democrat rock star. He will out-fundraise and out-turnout the Republicans by large margins. Obama will have his base secure, and will be reaching out to independents and moderates, while John McCain spends half the election cycle trying to convince his OWN base to vote for him. The man is a disaster for the Republican party. But he's not the first disaster we've had. I just have to think ahead to 2010 or 2012.

Condi Rice or Liddy Dole would be fine.

I hope McCain is as smart as you people, but I will crap if he selects Huckabee. McCain will show himself to be somebody who can't run a campaign.
