What was REALLY unexpected was in the Cosby Show when a fifth kid (Sonia) showed up out of nowhere in the second season. No explanation. Just, oh yeah we know there were four kids last year, but maybe no one'll notice if we add another.
Reminds me of when they switched out Darrin in Bewitched. They THOUGHT they could slip it past me but I was on them from the start!
