With two weeks to go before the first round vote, it appears that Sarkozy and Royal have pulled ahead and will reach the final runoff. They both seem to have weathered the challenge of the centrist Bayrou.
The other day I heard a Fox report that said that Royal had pulled ahead, but these polls from le Monde have never had her ahead, and usually behind Sarkozy. French Polls These are actually interesting to follow. With only two weeks between the first and second voting rounds, it is going to be very interesting to see where people start to fall in the final. My expectation is that France will not elect its first woman president, leaving that honor to the U.S.

Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!! Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith. |
