Default Watched The Protector

It was a slow weekend and with the snow last night didn't feel like checking out PC and the Sundance crowd so me and some friends rented The Protector. This movie kicks ass. I don't know if any of you saw Ong Bak but this new martial arts cat Tony Jaa is amazing. He uses Muay Thai and decimates everyone in his path a la Bruce Lee. But he combines a ton of acrobatics and stunts like Jackie Chan does as well but without the use of wires or a sling.

There is one scene in The Protector that is amazing. It's reminiscent of Bruce Lee's Game of Death. It's a single shot that lasts over 4 minutes of Tony Jaa's character going up a spiraling stair case kicking the trash out of people. There is also a second scene where he breaks the limbs of about 100 guys it seems kind of like that Kill Bill scene.

The stories and acting is what you'd expect of a martial arts flick coming out of the east but the action is intense.

Tony Jaa is slated to appear in Ong Bak 2, Rush Hour 3, and Indiana Jones 4.
