I was looking through a rack of LDS books yesterday and every single book has a bio on the back or on the sleeve where it lists the following:

The name of the author's spouse
How many kids/grandkids the author has
What major church callings the author has held

Does that bug anyone else? The church calling list always kills me. Are we so insecure that we can only read LDS books if the author has punched his/her ticket with the appropriate list of church callings? As an author, do any of these folks have any qualms about using a list of calling to promote a product? Apparently not.
