I have some good books on Judaism
fascinating on one part and tedious on the other.
Jews usually believe in monotheism, but there is no central authority so the beliefs are somewhat managed by conclaves of rabbis. Debate and discussion of ideas develop a new meaning among rabbis. There is a joke which can represent what I mean. One person asks a Jew, "Why do Jews answer questions with a question?" To which his Jewish compatriot responds, "Why, what's wrong with that?" |
