The higher lawyers/physicians the slower GNP/capita growth. Author says a lawyer/engineer ratio would be more appropriate, but couldn't not find the data.

This study looks at the % of law and engineering majors.

Engineering % has a (+) effect on real GDP growth, law % a (-) effect.



Update: The lawyer variable might not be statistically significant. Just a sec...

Update2: The lawyer variable in the sample on the right-hand-side is significant, left-hand-side insignificant.
