Harry Reid is now claiming the Contract with America "didn't do anything" or have any effect on the '94 election. Is he serious? What is even more amusing is that he is saying that at the same time Democrats are proposing their "Contract with America Lite," also known as Six for '06. If Contract with America didn't do anything, why are you essentially trying to do the same thing now? Shouldn't they come up with something else? Typical. The Democrats have no leadership. They are a mess. No wonder they can't win elections. Democrats need to get past the publicity of Contract With America and view it for what it actually was- an AGENDA. It was a PLAN for what Republicans would do if given power. And, surprise, Americans responded to that! The Democrats and their rudderless ship clearly do not understand that having a plan is a good idea, or that having a good plan is a great idea. |
