he didn't like what a newspaper was doing, he broke into it and destroyed it. because he broke the law, they finally had the excuse to charge him with a crime. He became a fugitive. He was finally arrested and then killed in jail. There were many reasons for the killers to hate JS, but his destruction of the press was the proximate cause to finally take him in and kill him. Certainly he didn't deserve to be executed or be killed by a mob, but there is really no good argument that says he had the right to destroy that press. It was a terrible miscalculation on his part. |
