just bought a sleeping bag
north face down "superlight" for $40 used. Probably 20 years old, but shows very little wear. Major downside is that it smells vaguely of cigarette smoke (he had asked for $50, but I got him to take off $10 for the smell). Gonna wash the baby. But at $40, I can't really complain.
I imagine I will use my REI traveling synthetic bag (rated at 55deg) most of the time. Used it at summer camp. I was actually a little chilly a couple of the nights, even with a cotton sheet inside the bag. (thank goodness for chilly weather during summer camp. it sure beats the alternative).
