A good friend in high school composed "Moonlight O'er Milpitas" that our stage band performed in faux tribute to a neighboring burg. The trumpet section stood and performed the bridge section with kazoos. Other than that possible exception, though, I think Hendrix wins.

I think there is a song on Clapton's unplugged that features a kazoo solo and I also think that Harry Chapin's live album has a kazoo in a couple of places, including the "Yes, we have no bananas" song. I know, these may not be better, but we're tlaking about kazoos here, so give me a break.
