Studies on parasitical nature of legal profession
http://books.google.com/books?id=WVD...ad=0#PPA119,M1
The higher lawyers/physicians the slower GNP/capita growth. Author says a lawyer/engineer ratio would be more appropriate, but couldn't not find the data. This study looks at the % of law and engineering majors. http://www.economics.harvard.edu/fac...ion_talent.pdf Engineering % has a (+) effect on real GDP growth, law % a (-) effect. Update: The lawyer variable might not be statistically significant. Just a sec... Update2: The lawyer variable in the sample on the right-hand-side is significant, left-hand-side insignificant.
