Dinner with Obama: $28,500
That's a man with the common touch.
I bet he pulls out the "clings to their guns and religion" quote for that crowd. I wonder if Pamela will be there telling Palin to suck it. Will 3D be there serving the caviar?

Obama has raised $450M, more than any other Presidential candidate ever.
Remember back in 2000 and 2004 when Bush was raising record cash, all the news stories about how money was corrupting politics? Remember how it gave the Republicans an unfair advantage, and how they were "buying" the election? Wonder where those reporters are now ...

Most of the stories say that Obama's donations have been small, and from ordinary middle class people.
I don't remember the stories about GWB saying that. |

I knew there must be a caveat. Middle class money has a cool "anti-corruption" powder on it.

I'd strongly recommend one make oneself familiar with McCain's record on fundraising and campaigning before trying to posit the argument that McCain is less dishonest (or somehow more trustworthy) than his opponent.

Like I've always said, Babs - I always vote for the candidate that I think sucks the least. In this case, it's McCain, though the difference in suckiness is immeasurable here.

And as I pointed out yesterday McCain reneged, on their joint agreement to keep the campaign above-the-belt all the way back in April. McCain likes to use his honorable service defending this country to assert that he's a man of honor. But the one does not, in and of itself, imply the other. There are dozens or hundreds of reasons for conservatives to oppose Obama on policy, so there's no reason to try to make arguments that one would vote for McCain because he's the better man. Those arguments are tenuous at best. |

Exactly. McCain sucks less than Obama does.
