I'm already having trouble wanting to vote for McCain as it is.

in the same way that the church is fighting gay marriage because it will legitimize gays, evangelicals are fighting Romney so it is doesn't legitimize Mormons.
The irony is rich. |

As a teen, if you wanted to have any chance making out or petting with local girls, you usually had to go through Calvary Community first. The church was very active putting on youth activities such as dances, motivational speakers, free pizza parties, etc...in truth, we had fun going to some of the events because many other kids from TOHS would be there, as well. Like I said, it was a large congregation and still remains such today. I stopped going to the activities after one particular incident wherein we were listening to a speaker (usually non-denominational topics like trying your best, setting goals, etc.) and the speaker told all of us to close our eyes. The speaker challenged us all to imagine paradise and living with Jesus. He then said that all we needed to do to have all of this was to accept Jesus. He concluded by saying something to the effect of, "I want you to open your eyes, and when you do, if you accept Jesus and want to be save, all you need to do is raise your hand." I didnt close my eyes, but I looked around and a lot of other people did. The LDS guys I was with did not close their eyes, either. That was the last time I went to an evangelic event, even for social purposes. By way of full admission, when everyone had their eyes closed, I spent a little time looking at the cleavage of a girl sitting in the row in front of me.

So how were you not following instructions? Seems to me you were trying to imagine paradise as you were told to do.
