West Virginia is proof positive
that Romney has zero chance in a brokered convention.
Giuliani has more of a chance than Romney. McCain and Huckabee could both DIE before the convention, and Romney would not be chosen. |

Although most voters don't have bigoted sentiments against Romney, but some do and most of those vote for Huckabee. Damn the Religious Right.

Notice how few of the old guard are throwing in their hat with Romney.
If Romney had real, substantial endorsements, that could make all the difference. Instead Romney gets a few pundits. No gravitas. While many big names line up for McCain, knowing that gravy awaits he who bids on the winning horse. |

Also, a lot of these endorsements didn't come until McCain won Florida and was the clear front runner. Like you said, the gravy awaits them now. |

Exactly how does a brokered convention work?
We know all the other candidates hate Romney, so if they get to choose who their delegates vote for, then certainly Romney has no chance. If the delegates themselves get to choose though, it could be a different story. |

IFF the Dems could ever field an economic conservative, I would gladly vote for such a person, but alas the Dems detest white male professionals.

Yes, it's still bad news for sure. Romney's only hope is to pull some key wins tonight, like Missouri, and build some momentum enough to win enough delegates before the convention. Not bloody likely though.
