Is anybody reading...
...anything really good right now?
I'm going to have more time to read in the next few weeks. I was wondering if there were any suggestions. I think I remember Farrah mentioned a good one...anything else? |

I can also recommend "Enterprise Integration Patterns: Designing, Building, and Deploying Messaging Solutions". It's a real page turner. |

Yes, I'm almost finished with "West with the Night" by Beryl Markham, and I still highly recommend it. One of my favorite reads in a long time.
Before that, I read Spook: "Science Tackles the Afterlife" by Mary Roach. It started out interesting and funny, but dragged towards the end. I heard her other book, about the cadavers, is better. I also listened to some audio books by David Sedaris. "Me Talk Pretty One Day" is hilarious. |

I am reading this right now. I have listened to some of Sedaris' "This American Life" on NPR but this is the first book I have read of his. Very funny, light read. I like his tone and style.

He wrote a piece recently called "D'accord" which was one of his best ever. Of course I think everything reads better on paper. So if nobody else thinks it's funny, I'll blame the medium. |

I'm reading. "Manhunt: The 12 Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer"
It reads like a fast paced political thriller.

Farrah, did you see you made the 50,000th post? I noticed that when I quoted you. Do you think there's a prize?? Last edited by BarbaraGordon; 12-21-2006 at 03:57 AM. |

I just picked up a third novel by Michel Houlebecq called The Possibility of an Island. I really enjoyed the other two, Platform and Elementary Particles.
