Prince singing at the Super Bowl
Since he always gets strong praise here, I thought I'd throw this up here. I'm actually really interested to see his performance (much moreso than anything else recently) because it could either be really good or it could pretty good and sort of odd or it could be all right and Liberace weird. As long as we don't get the Batdance song....
The article doesn't really say anything important, but I feel the need to cite my sources. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2693426

What is the NFL thinking? Admittedly, I'm not up on my pop culture, but I do have a 16- and 14-year-old and I haven't seen any Prince in our I-Tunes library. I'm very puzzled. Of course, I was always very puzzled by his appeal, anyway.

Rocky is right. Prince is an incredible guitarist. In fact, he's an incredible musician all around. The comparison to Liberace doesn't work. You name a hot 80's chick and Prince hit that. Two words, Kim Basinger.
Prince brought it on himself though, so I can't blame those of you who call him gay. That's the kind of rep you get when you wear assless pants. Last edited by SteelBlue; 12-14-2006 at 01:44 AM. |

Prince is probably the most interesting Super Bowl halftime performer they've had in a while.
He may be the most talented musician of our generation.

You've seen his performance with Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne (and George Harrison's son) of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" haven't you? That was amazing. And it's one of my favorite songs.
