A real economist would have concluded that there was insufficient data to determine whether you were angry at mikewaters.

Not if the economist who is determining if someone got angry is actually the potentially or possibly angered. Then the inference to be made is starkly simple and reliable. However, if I was a POT instead of a POO, I doubt I would have apologized. POTs don't need to apologize.
