Default Helen Keller

was a cofounder of the ACLU. I didn't know that. Very interesting.

This photography was just recently discovered. I think it is an amazing photograph.

Also interesting is that at one point, Helen Keller almost eloped/married. The mental picture of her standing outside with her bags waiting in vain contains much sadness.

That is a great photo.

I seem to recall that Helen Keller became a political activist (a leftist) later in her life. Is that true?

Yes, according to wikipedia. She was a socialist, like many good people.

Well, Mike did state that he recently learned that she was a co-founder of the ACLU.

On the socialist note, however, might I point out that Debs, the 1912 socialist candidate for president, recevied 6% of the popular vote? Lots of folks were socialists back then.
