Default I predicted Huckabee still had moves to make

that he wasn't out.

And now he is leading in Virginia with 13% in.

I have to say, I have good instincts.

Sad to say we Republicans are surrounded by weirdos and kooks. What more proof do we need than Huckabee's success. Clearly Romney pulled the rip chord seeing he was no. 3 by a significant margin. I go cast my gaze on CB and see that corrall of freaks and must shake my head and mutter, "We need them, these are our masses." Shudder.

He wasn't third. He just couldn't win, and neither can huckabee. Huckabee is only showing well becasue he is taking a chunk from what was Romney's vote.

What is the appeal of Huckabee? He is so alien to me, I don't see it.

He's not a businessman, he's not a scholar, he's not a fiscal conservative, but he's a Bible Thumper. Fine, hire him as your preacher, but vote for him for President?

I'm beside myself. And why isn't he bowing out to save the party?

Evangelicals have threatened to create a third party. He is a part of that movement and truly believes he IS God's choice for president.

I wish that evangelicals didn't exist.

Ouch. That's a little Hitlarian. But I understand the sentiment.

I wish they didn't exist in the political realm. Let them live outside that realm, Bible bashing and writing tracts against every known sect. They can have their own nirvana.

Exactly, everyone of 'em. Bigots, they are.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.
