Weird Stake Conference talk
We had a visiting 70 for Stake Conference on Sunday. He's a relatively new GA and apparently wanted to impress us. He gave a bizarre, self-promoting talk that included personal tidbits that his salary, until becoming a GA, "made Michael Jordan's contract look like chump change", that he graduated from Harvard (repeated about 10 times for emphasis), and that he's good friends with Mitt Romney. He also told a story that accused Egypt of imprisoning an Egyptian who converted to the church and having well known terrorists torture him. It had a Paul Dunn quality to it.

I am pretty sure it was the same meeting. They are in your stake. You live in Jackson, right?

was this Nolan Archibald? He used to be our SP, and EVERY stake conf half his talk was about his stunning bb skills, his MBA from Harvard, and his CEO job. He didn't throw Mitt in until the end of his tenure as SP.

As to his hoops skills, I will say that when I knew him, he was in his mid 40s, and he was still one of the top 2 or 3 players in the stake, and we had a few others who played college ball. |
