If that's what the residents of Maine want, good for Maine.
Let's keep this a state decision by voters and accept the results of the vote.

Quite honestly, I don't care one way or the other. I have enough to worry about for my own life.

I just think that when a state puts it to the vote, the outcome of the vote should be accepted. There's no need to go to court to overturn the outcome of the vote. California can always have another vote about it in a few years and if enough decide that gay marriage should be allowed, then that's how it should be.

I realize that and view it as being sore losers. I just can't understand why those who support gay marriage just don't want to keep trying until they get it passed. It seems that in today's society, it will happen sooner than later, so just keep at it until they get what they want.

I don't agree with gay marriage, I think it's harmful to society. But if that's what the voters want, that's what they should get. I don't think it should be forced on any state by the courts. Which will happen.
To that end, I'd support a federal ammendment that states something like: "no state shall be required to recognize a gay marriage or civil union entered into in another state".

I agree -- I am uncomfortable w/ judges saying there is a right to gay marriage. I think it should be in the hands of voters.
