Seceding from the Union
One thing I have noticed about people that advocate secession from the Union on the internet, is that they can neither spell "secede" nor "secession."
I don't think that bodes well for the state(s) that secede(s). |

Conservatives have spent the last 8 years telling Democrats how unpatriotic they are, and how much the Dems hate their country. Then a Democrat takes office, and in less than 100 days the conservatives are screaming "secession!" They must really love their country. What patriots. |

Remember Mike, it's only wrong when the right does it.

At least the conservatives still want to be on the actual physical ground of the USA. They want to keep it for themselves.
Whereas liberals want to hightail it out to someplace else. That says a lot. |

The conservatives want to be self sufficient and the liberals want to be where the government will take care of them.

At least I know if Texas seceded my income tax rate would drop to zero.

No, they don't. They want to be on physical ground that is no longer part of the USA.

Rick Perry was silly to bring it up, but no one believes he's serious about secession.
I do wish, though, that states would take a more proactive stance on the 10th amendment.

You mean other than the 25% of Texans who refuse to say Texas should remain part of the USA in a recent Rasmussen poll?
